Top 5 Restaurants in Downtown Phoenix

February 11, 2019

It’s Valentine’s Week! (Cue the silent gasps of dozens of guys just now realizing this frightening fact.)

But have no fear: We’ve put together a short list of some of our favorite dining spots in the Downtown Phoenix area (which also happen to be pretty close to The Department). So whether you’re looking to spoil that special someone in your life with a night out or just enjoy one of our city’s excellent eateries with a group of friends (#galentines), here are some of your best options:

Mancuso’s Restaurant

Nothing says romance like a nice Italian dinner. (I mean, who can forget the classic spaghetti-sharing scene in Disney’s Lady and the Tramp?) Book a table at this family-owned restaurant and enjoy a delicious pasta bowl or one of their signature dishes like Chilean Sea Bass or Veal Scallopini. Mangia!

The Kettle Black

You’ll feel like you’ve stumbled into a traditional English tavern when you enter through the red doors of The Kettle Black. The dark wooden walls and long bar give this pub a cozy vibe that makes for a fun time downtown. Pair their house specialty fish-n-chips or a juicy burger with one of their great beer and wine selections. You won’t regret it!

The Breadfruit & Rum Bar

When was the last time you had a decent Jamaican meal? This special little Phoenix date spot is the real deal! From their fresh seafood selections to the seemingly endless rum cocktail concoctions (from bartenders who know their craft!), The Breadfruit and Rum Bar will be a culinary experience you’ll be telling your friends about.

La Piazza PHX

Step into southern Italy at La Piazza PHX and enjoy an authentic pie from people serious about their pizza. La Piazza PHX is one of just a few VPN Certified Neapolitan Pizzerias in Arizona. The VPN association is the only non-profit organization that safeguards and promises the culture of real artisan Neapolitan Pizza Worldwide. They’ve also been featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. Guy Fieri approved!

Angels Trumpet Ale House

Looking for more of a fun, laid back environment for your Valentine’s date? Angels Trumpet is the place for you. With over 30 unique beers on a tap at any given time, plus a scratch kitchen with some deliciously different recipes, you’ll quickly discover that this isn’t your typical, trendy gastropub.
