Welcome to PHX Startup Week 2019!

PHXSUW is a six-day event which takes place in three different locations across the Valley, providing education, connection, and support to entrepreneurs of every type. With over 50 sessions, daily happy hours, and countless networking opportunities, it’s the best place for PHX entrepreneurs to be this week. #ThrivePHX

While there are over 100 amazing speakers slated for PHXSUW2019, we are especially excited to have some of our Department members as part of this week’s lineup. Here’s a little info about them and their sessions:

Erik Averill

Attracting Athletes as Investors and Ambassadors

Erik is the co-founder of AWM Capital and Athlete Wealth Management. Before becoming a financial advisor for professional athletes and founders, Erik was a professional baseball player with the Detroit Tigers and Seattle Mariners.

Erik is the co-author of PAID: How To Maximize Your Signing Bonus, Simplify The Money Game and Secure Your Future. He is also the host of the podcast, “AthleteCEO: Master Your Money, Business, & Life.”

Andy Maurer

The Psychological Cost of Entrepreneurship: Conversations on Mental Health, Trauma, and Vulnerability

Andy is a licensed therapist in downtown Phoenix. He speaks to and trains high performance leaders, including CEO’s, founders, and entrepreneurs, educating and equipping them on the issue of trauma and its impact on their work and relationships. Andy uses mindfulness and experiential based exercises to help people increase emotional intelligence, enhance self-awareness, and develop healthy and meaningful relationships.

Mike Jones

Mike will be starting and ending each day of PHX Startup Week with his welcome and closing sessions.

Mike was named one of Arizona’s top 35 entrepreneurs under the age of 35 by the Arizona Republic in 2014. He is a member of AIGA (the professional association for design), Founder Society, Conscious Capitalism Arizona, and Local First Arizona. Mike is also an important player in PHX Startup Week event. He’s also CEO at Resound, a successful branding and marketing agency here in the Valley.
